Family Minister, Elevate Christian Church

Kennesaw State University

I began volunteering over 20 years ago and have had the privilege of serving as a Program Director for the past 7 years.

Hobbies: I’m a Jesus junkie who loves studying the heart and character of God, the Bible’s history and background, exploring psychology (especially kids & teens), and spending time in the garden when I need to recharge.

Favorite Camp Memory: Each year, one of my greatest joys is watching kids push past fear and self-doubt. For many of our younger campers, this is their first experience away from home, and it can be intimidating. Witnessing them rise to challenges they’ve never encountered before and grow in confidence is always the highlight of my summer.

Favorite Camp Food: That’s a tough call! Cinnamon rolls, snickerdoodles, chocolate pudding, and spiced cake all sound like winners to me.

A little About me: Our family has been part of the Elevate story for over 20 years. My husband serves as Lead Minister, and I have the joy of serving as Family Minister. Together, we’re raising five kids and a small zoo that includes two dogs, four cats, and one very patient snake. When I’m not caring for people or critters, you’ll usually find me outside with my hands in the dirt . . . gardening is my happy place.

I have been a camper since First Timer's and I attended as a camper until my senior year of High School. I started volunteering at Woodland my sophomore year of high school and I believe I have only missed one summer of volunteering since. I am 34 now, and I still love every minute of it!

Hobbies: In my spare time, I enjoy reading, organizing, spending time with family friends, and going on adventures with my fiancé and pup. Anything outdoors is my favorite!

Favorite Camp Memory: My favorite camp memories are being able to spend time volunteering with the late and great Joey Mullins. We always had such a blast connecting with each other, and the campers! There was nothing better than a Mullins summer camp!

Favorite Camp Food: I think my favorite thing to eat at camp are the cinnamon rolls. Those are hard to beat!

A Little About Me: My family lives in North Carolina, Florida, and Georgia. I live in Emerson, with my sweet little dog Nova, and my fiancé lives in Emerson, as well.
